'They made it clear' - Marcel Sabitzer drops hint on his Manchester United and Bayern Munich future

Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer has admitted his future beyond the summer might be out of his control.

After Christian Eriksen sustained an ankle injury against Reading in the FA Cup, Sabitzer was signed from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window on loan for the remainder of the season and he's since become a valued member of the squad.

Sabitzer, 29, has made six starts in the Premier League and he's excelled in a more prominent midfield role in recent games against Brentford and Everton, which has seen Bruno Fernandes play deeper in the midfield three.

Erik ten Hag has praised Sabitzer for his contribution so far this season and, although United have no option to make his loan permanent, the possibility of making a new offer to Bayern Munich in the summer window is not off the cards.

However, Thomas Tuchel has replaced Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich and that could impact Sabitzer's future plans.

The midfielder has enjoyed his time at Old Trafford, but he's admitted he's not the only person who decides what is next for him.

"United made it clear that it was a project until the summer," Sabitzer recently told BILD. "Then we'll see. Until then, I want to give everything here. It's a loan deal without an option. In the summer, the situation will be evaluated.

"But I can say that I found my place here. Now I know the Premier League and can say there's nothing better, more intense and tougher. Every game is a fight. It's the best league in the world. When you play once here you know it's incomparable.
