'There are difficulties' - Man City injury blow leaves Pep Guardiola concerned

Pep Guardiola is concerned by Manchester City's injury problems with Jeremy Doku not expected to play before the next international break.

City were already without Rodri and Oscar Bobb to long-term injuries while there is no return in sight for Kevin De Bruyne after five weeks on the sidelines. And the situation has worsened over the last week, with Kyle Walker returning from England duty with a knee issue, Jeremy Doku picking something up in the Wolves game and Jack Grealish getting injured the following day in training.

The Blues named three goalkeepers in an 18-man squad for the Champions League game on Wednesday, leaving five spots free on the bench, and there is no immediate relief in sight. With five games coming up in 15 days before the November international break, Guardiola is worried about the state of the squad.

"For one game, two games is fine," he said. "Now we have a tough period. After this game we have four days. Three days to Bournemouth, how difficult and demanding it is.

"Go to Lisbon for three days, and after come back three days to Brighton. With just 14, 15 players, of course I am [concerned]. This is the challenge and every season there are difficulties. We had them in the past with important players injured like this season, unfortunately with injury. It is what it is. A perfect scenario never exists."
