The winners and losers for Man City vs Nottingham Forest including Phil Foden and Rodri

Manchester City are sitting pretty at the Premier League summit with a maximum 18 points from six games.

However, their 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon was not without cost as Rodri - a hugely important player - saw red and will now miss three games through suspension. Goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland settled the scores for the treble-winners in that meeting.

Foden and Haaland were not, though, the only plus points for City as Spain international Rodri earned a rare black mark in his copybook. Here are the main winners and losers for City during the Forest win;

Kyle Walker: What a start to the season. It looked for all the world he might be heading on to pastures new this summer, but Walker has since returned to the starting XI on a regular basis, picked up the armband and re-proven his worth with some exceptional performances. His assist for the Foden goal was top-notch.

Phil Foden: Another player who was, perhaps, not the in-thing for Guardiola last season. Foden smashed his first goal this season into the net to set City on their way against Forest and that capped off a superb display from the Academy graduate. He looks at have made the shirt his own, once again, in the last few matches.

Kalvin Phillips: Could this be the catalyst to ignite for his City career? Rodri was sent off for violent conduct and his manager, Guardiola, was not best pleased with the Spain international. Phillips came on to help City pick up yet another Premier League win. That means Phillips has three games to shine!
