'The way I left was not nice': Chiefs' Sithebe has no ill feelings towards AmaZulu

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe says he has no hard feelings towards AmaZulu after his acrimonious exit from the Kwazulu-Natal outfit.

Sithebe was frozen out of the AmaZulu squad for the second-half last season as he had reportedly signed a pre-contract with Chiefs, which angered club president Sandile Zungu in particular.

On Sunday, Amakhosi come up against Usuthu in an MTN8 semi-final clash at FNB Stadium. Sithebe has a chance to feature against his former side, and the 29-year-old admits the last six months of his Usuthu career were not pleasant due to the tension between him and the club.

"There is obviously always that at the back of my mind that this is my former team, and the way I left them was not nice," Sithebe said ahead of the clash.

"But whenever I play, I always want to express myself and give my 100%. We drew, and I wanted us to win. We missed a penalty and wasted chances.

"I want to improve and keep my game at a high level and get assists as a midfielder.

"Since the season started, we have been struggling in the offensive third, even myself. (But) I want to make more box entries – that's what I need more.

"As an attacking midfielder, when you play six to seven games, and you don't assist, people will start asking questions, and that puts you under pressure."

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Sunday.
