The ‘vintage train carriage’ Airbnb you can stay in two hours from Manchester
Taking a ride on a luxurious sleeper train is on many people’s bucket lists. But in reality it can be an expensive experience, and doesn’t really make for a good night’s sleep.
Luckily an Airbnb nestled in the Yorkshire countryside is offering guests all the magic of sleeping in a vintage train carriage, without the hassle of travel and the noisy clickety-clack of the wheels on the railway track. The Flying Yorkshireman is a compact hut built in the style of a Pullman railway carriage, and although it may not be an actual train carriage, it’s packed full of details which will make you feel like you’re in one.
Located on a working farm near Pateley Bridge in North Yorkshire, around a two hour drive from Greater Manchester, the Flying Yorkshireman overlooks the old Nidd Valley railway line which runs through the farm and has spectacular views of the Yorkshire Dales. Step inside and it’s hard to believe you’re not inside an actual train carriage, thanks to all the authentic reclaimed railway items, including a luggage rack, signs and lamps.

The Flying Yorkshireman sleeps two. Inside there's the sleeping area, compact kitchen, dining area and a bathroom with a shower. There’s a reclaimed train table and two seats where you sit back and can pretend you’re dining on board a vintage train - the only difference is the view out of the window isn’t whizzing past you.
The cosy bedroom has luxurious wood panelling, with a double bed and a vintage luggage rack overhead. Safe to say, it’s a lot more spacious than the bunkbeds you’d usually find in a sleeper train.
Throughout the Airbnb are beautiful details which give it a playful feel, including a sign for the
