The UK’s most Instagrammable walks for autumn - and the top two are near Manchester

From pumpkin spiced lattes to misty mornings, there are lots of things which signify that autumn is here. But there’s one thing you can’t beat at this time of the year - going for a quintessential autumn walk.

There’s something magical about leaves crunching underfoot and taking in the beautiful displays of them changing their colour. In fact, you may already have seen a surge of picturesque autumn walks being posted on social media, getting you in the mood for your next hike.

With that in mind, Parkdean resorts has revealed the UK’s most Instagrammable walks to do this autumn. They analysed the number of Instagram reels and images to identify the most popular walking locations across the country where you can get the best scenic snaps.

Only two places in the north of England made the cut, but luckily for us they’re within easy reach of Greater Manchester. Ranking at number one on the list is Ambleside in the Lake District.

This picture-postcard town nestled just north of Windermere is the place to head to if you’re looking for the perfect autumnal post for your Instagram account. The town has narrow, twisting roads lined with pretty buildings, the most iconic of which is the 17th century slate-roofed Bridge House.

This tiny building straddles a small stream, Stock Ghyll, with just one room downstairs and one room upstairs. It looks especially magical when it's surrounded by autumn leaves, especially with the stream gently flowing underneath.

Coming in second on the list for an Instagrammable autumn walk is Castleton in the Peak District. Only a stone’s throw
