The true story of Reg Seekings - the 'most resilient' fighter who narrowly escaped death more than once
SAS Rogue Heroes returns to BBC One, with the latest episode focusing on Reg Seekings (portrayed by Theo Barklem-Biggs) as he grapples with the traumatic experiences he's endured. He forms a bond with an Italian family and confides in their young son about the pervasive death he's encountered.
Later in the episode, he and his unit are caught off guard by German gunfire, leading to further devastating losses for Reg. The real-life Reg Seekings started his military career as a private in the Cambridgeshire Regiment before volunteering for the Commandos in 1940.
He joined the SAS the subsequent summer and played a significant role in their first successful operation in Libya. Not just a man of physical strength, Seekings was also known for his intelligence and often provided valuable insights.
He faced numerous challenges and narrowly escaped death multiple times. In 1943, while in a side street in the Italian town of Termoli, he was in the back of a truck struck by shellfire.
While most of the occupants were either killed or severely injured, Seekings miraculously emerged almost unharmed. He then gathered all the severed limbs of the deceased, ensuring they were correctly matched to their bodies before burial, reports the Mirror.
His luck persisted into 1944 when he survived a gunshot wound to the back of his head, which only temporarily incapacitated him.
Just weeks later, he was back in action, disrupting German communication lines, all while carrying a bullet lodged at the base of his skull.
He became known as an especially steadfast combatant, noted for his faithfulness and empathy towards his fellow soldiers.
Actor Theo expressed his excitement about returning to the role of Reg for a second series, eager to delve
