"The time has come for us to say goodbye" - Much-loved Salford Italian announces closure

A popular restaurant in Salford has announced its closure. Leo's Italian Restaurant in Monton took to social media to tell customers that they will be leaving the trendy village.

Found on the much-loved Monton Road, which is known for its strip of cafe's, pubs and bars. Bosses at the bar and grill say the unit will be passed on to new owners and thanked locals for their 'support', 'loyalty' and 'memories.

The heartfelt message from the eatery's Facebook group read: "Dear valued customers and friends, It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of Leo's Restaurant on September 17th.

"After many wonderful years serving this community, the time has come for us to say goodbye. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your incredible support, loyalty, and the memories we've shared.

"As we pass the torch to the new owners, we wish them all the success in the future. Thank you for being a part of our journey. Your support has meant the world to us.

"With sincere appreciation, Leo's Restaurant."

Former patrons took to the comment section to voice their sadness at the news. One commenter said: "So sorry that you’re going. Leo’s has always been my go to restaurant.

Another person added: "Aww so sorry my favourite restaurant." While another customer asked whether a new food spot would take its place, replying to the post, they said: "Good luck to the new owners, will it still be a restaurant."
