The Rock To Face Roman Reigns In WrestleMania 40? Instagram Post Fuels Rumours

The rumours regarding a mega WrestleMania 40 match between The Rock and Roman Reigns has been doing the rounds for quite some time now. While the World Wrestling Organisation (WWE) has not made any official announcement, fans have tracking the developments closely on social media and a recent Instagram post has once again reignited their hopes. Paul Heyman, on-screen manager of WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns, took to social media to share a fan-made art that takes a direct dig at The Rock. This was in response to Rock's comments on WWE Raw Day 1 where he asked fans if he should sit at "the head of the table" in what was perceived as a dig at Reigns.

The fan-made art on Instagram featured Hayman and Reigns with announcer Kayla Braxton where both of them can be seen laughing when asked about The Rock's possible return to WWE.

"To quote the wisdom I bestowed upon the @wwe #smackdown audience, there are two guaranteed ways to go viral in today's world ... (1) date @taylorswift (2) namedrop the reigning defending undisputed #wwe universal heavyweight champion @romanreigns!" Heyman wrote on his official handle.

While fans are convinced about the match, several media reports have also suggested that it may not take place at WrestleMania 40 due to The Rock's Hollywood commitments. In that case, Cody Rhodes is expected to take on Roman Reigns for the belt in a rematch from last year's Mania.

The next challenge for Roman Reigns will be to defeat his title against LA Knight, Randy Orton and AJ Styles in a Fatal-Four-Way match at WWE Royal Rumble 2024 on January 28. This will be the first title defense for Reigns in a Fatal-Four-Way match since winning it.
