The reason 'allergic' Taylor Swift snubbed Manchester MTV awards

Taylor Swift fans have said they feel that the singer is ‘allergic to Manchester’ after failing to turn up to the huge star-studded MTV EMAs in the city last night.

The musician was the big winner at the European Music Awards, which were held at Manchester’s Co-op Live, on Sunday evening (November 10). Taylor won four awards, including Best Video and Best US Act.

However, she was unable to make it to the event itself and instead delivered a pre-recorded speech where she thanked fans for their support declaring that she ‘had the best time touring in Europe this summer’.

Instead of attending the event, Taylor was pictured supporting boyfriend Travis Kelce at his latest NFL game. The Kansas City Chiefs player, who are the reigning Super Bowl champions, joined the team as they played against the Denver Broncos in Missouri.

Taylor - dressed in a matching red skirt and jacket - was seen asking the hordes of photographers to ‘stay back’ as she passed through the stadium on a golf cart with her parents on their way to the VIP suite for the American football game.

In her EMAs speech, Taylor referred to her Eras tour, which came to the UK and Ireland earlier this year with shows in Liverpool, London, Cardiff, Dublin and Edinburgh. But she opted not to include Manchester on the list of dates - a move that still hasn't gone unnoticed by fans.

Following her no-show at last night’s event, one fan jokingly posted on social media: “Taylor Swift is allergic to Manchester real.” Another said: “Yes Taylor Skipped Mtv EMA FOR HER MAN.”
