'The Premier League ain't ready' - Manchester United fans support Marcus Rashford as he issues pre-season update

With pre-season fast approaching, some Manchester United players have only just departed for their summer holidays after an ill-placed round of Nations League fixtures meant they needed to spend an extended period with their national sides. However, others have been using the summer break to get to peak fitness ahead of Erik ten Hag's first pre-season.

One such player is Marcus Rashford. The English winger did not have a chance to have a pre-season last year as he was recovering from surgery and he only rejoined the United squad in October which contributed to a poor 2021/22 campaign.

In 2020/21, Rashford made 57 appearances for United (and this overplaying could have contributed to his fitness issues as well), scoring 21 goals and registering 15 assists. This included six goals in the Champions League and double figures in goals and assists in the Premier League.

In 2021/22, Rashford managed five goals and two assists. He, and the fans, will be hoping that under Ten Hag he can turn this back around and hopefully recapture his form from the previous season.

Rashford has been releasing videos of his training on social media and even dropping a picture of his new haircut, reminiscent of the one he had when he made his debut under Louis van Gaal.
