"The other name that's admired" - Journalist reveals Arsenal alternative to Neto and Pino

Arsenal admire Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby alongside their other targets Yeremy Pino and Pedro Neto, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

The Gunners are believed to be searching for attacking reinforcements ahead of September’s deadline and appear to have narrowed their shortlist down to a handful of exciting young talents.

David Ornstein of The Athletic recently reported that Wolves star Neto is at the top of Mikel Areta’s wish list and that talks have been taking place for ‘more than a month’ over a potential deal.

Meanwhile, Spanish outlet AS have claimed that Arsenal have launched a €40 million (£33.8m) for Pino as they look to take advantage of Villarreal’s financial issues.

And transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now disclosed that Diaby is a player that the north London outfit ‘love’, although admits it will not be ‘an easy signing’ to pull off.

“Let’s see if they will be able to find a way or not for Pedro Neto – not the only name, let me also mention Moussa Diaby, a player they love at Arsenal,” said Romano on his YouTube channel.

“But at the same point, he is not a priority signing, also not an easy signing, because Bayer Leverkusen consider him not on the market at the moment.”

Phillips also believes that Leverkusen would only sell Diaby if ‘a ridiculous offer’ arrives at the BayArena after previously turning down Newcastle United’s advances earlier in the summer.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “So, Moussa Diaby is the other name that’s admired.

“But as we know, Leverkusen are not really in a position where they need to sell unless it’s a ridiculous offer that arrives. We know Newcastle were interested earlier in the window.”
