The North Wales beach that’s ‘comparable to South Africa’

North Wales is known for its stunning beaches, from scenic sandy coves to long stretches of coastline. With beautiful natural scenery, many of them rival destinations abroad - and now one seaside spot has been compared to a beach in South Africa.

Porthdinllaen is a tiny village overlooking a small bay, nestled on a strip of land that juts out from the Llyn Peninsula. It regularly features high on lists of places to visit, having been named one of the top ‘secret’ beaches early this year.

Meanwhile its pub, the Ty Coch Inn which sits right on the beach, has previously been named one of the best beach pubs in the world. But what really sets Porthdinllaen apart is its gorgeous scenery.

In fact the village has been owned by the National Trust since 1994, preserving its natural beauty. It boasts a gorgeous golden beach tucked between green headlands with crystal clear water.
