It took just Newcastle United just 108 seconds to recover from Jamaal Lascelles' unfortunate own goal and equalise during the win against Everton.

The Magpies captain inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net to open the scoring during Tuesday night's 3-1 victory over the Toffees.

Mason Holgate's shot was cleared off the line and bounced in off the Toon skipper, and the Everton defender would accidentally return the favour less than two minutes later.

Lascelles arrived unmarked at the back post to power Kieran Trippier's driven corner goalwards, and the header crashed off the underside of the crossbar and over the line via a touch from the Everton defender.

It was not immediately clear who to credit for Newcastle's equaliser, with Jonjo Shelvey on the goalline ready to capitalise on a loose ball in the six-yard box.
