The Luton Town dilemmas facing Nathan Jones ahead of Posh clash tonight

Looking to strengthen their place in the Championship play-offs, and inflict further pressure on their top-six-chasing counterparts, Luton Town visit Peterborough United tonight.

With Posh sitting at the bottom of the second-tier, Nathan Jones’ side will be viewing tonight’s clash as a perfect opportunity for all three points.

The Hatters have picked up 16 points from their last eight matches, in what has been a strong start to 2022.

Peterborough are eight points adrift of Championship safety, with Grant McCann knowing how damaging a loss against the Bedfordshire club will be, in regards to their fight for survival.

Here, we take a look at three dilemmas facing Jones ahead of tonight’s game at the Weston Homes Stadium…

A return for Sonny Bradley?

Suffering lots of injuries within their backline all season, one player who could be ready for a return to the starting XI is Luton skipper Sonny Bradley.

The 30-year-old made the bench at the weekend for Luton’s 2-2 draw with Millwall and could be deemed ready for a start this evening.

Kal Naismith and Tom Lockyer returned to the starting XI at the weekend and it will be no surprise to see the Hatters’ captain back in from the first minute.

Can Fred Onyedinma fit in?

The Peterborough defence may still be having nightmares about Fred Onyedinma after his perfect competitive debut for the Hatters on the opening day of the season.

A change of the system has meant that the exciting winger has not played as much football as that occasion in August would have suggested.

Proving that he can impress up front and in a wing-back role, it will be interesting to see if Onyedinma is recalled to the starting XI tonight.

If not, then he could chaos should he come off the bench.
