The job for Arsenal this summer is securing the strikers that will take them to the next level. Competing for and qualifying in the top four positions would give Champions League football for the first time in six years.
Arsenal however need to have loftier ambitions. Reaching the elite European competition is a huge stride forwards but to re-establish themselves there and push ahead for future title challenges and Champions League-winning objectives, investing in world-class forwards needs to be a priority.
Thankfully, the early signs for the summer window look good. Arsenal have been linked with a host of quality forwards already and understands that Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus has been shortlisted.
The Times reported that Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez joined Jesus on the list of forwards that the club has. The report also supports understanding that Arsenal are chasing at least two forwards this summer.
Jesus and Martinez have scored a combined 34 goals this season. Comparatively, Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have just six league goals between them.
