The latest house prices across Greater Manchester - full list with one area as low as £149k

House prices are constantly fluctuating up and down the country depending on the state of the economy, interest rates and supply and demand. Familiarising yourself with the local house prices in your area can help give you a good indication of what you can expect to buy or sell a home for today.

The average sold price for a property in Greater Manchester in the last 12 months is £249,625, however, costs can differ hugely from one borough to the next. According to our exclusive analysis of the latest Land Registry data, Bardsley is currently the cheapest place to buy a home across the region.

Homes in the OL8 postcode area sold for an average of £149,495 each in the 12 months to the end of July - that’s less than any postcode area in our region with at least 20 sales over the last year.

Chadderton is the next cheapest place in our region to buy a home. Houses sold for £151,913 each on average in the OL1 postcode area. That’s followed by M38 (Little Hulton) with an average house price of £160,426, BL4 (Bolton) where an average home sold for £166,592 and BL3 (Bolton) with an average property price of £171,474

Altrincham has the highest average sale price of any postcode area in Greater Manchester to have had at least 50 sales over the last 12 months. Houses sold for an average of £591,762 in the WA15 postcode area.

The WA14 area was the next most expensive place to buy a home in our region where homes sold for an average of £527,320 last year. That’s followed by M21 (Chorlton-cum-Hardy) with an average house price of £421,324, SK7 (Bramhall) where an average home sold for £408,883 and M33 (Sale) with a £402,260 average house price.
