'The king is back' — Manchester United fans say same thing as Cristiano Ronaldo returns

Manchester United fans have been sharing their reactions after Cristiano Ronaldo was named to start against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

The game at Old Trafford today (Sunday) is the last chance the United players have to impress Erik ten Hag ahead of the Premier League campaign getting started next weekend. United will take to the field for the second time in just over 24 hours at the Theatre of Dreams following Saturday's match versus Atletico Madrid in Oslo.

United suffered defeat for the first time under Ten Hag as Joao Felix scored late on in what was a feisty game in the Norwegian capital. In stoppage time, Brazilian midfielder Fred was given a red card for a second bookable offence.

As was expected there has been plenty of changes from Ten Hag as he looks to give a once over all of his players before the Brighton and Hove Albion clash. Notably Ronaldo returns to the starting XI while Eriksen starts after coming off the bench against Atletico.

Elsewhere, Alejandro Garnacho gets his first start of pre-season up front along with fellow youngsters Tahith Chong, Ethan Laird and James Garner. Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez makes his first appearance for United and Raphael Varane wears the captain's armband.

Take a look at what United fans have made to the starting XI below.
