The 'immense threat' £83m blockbuster transfer would give to Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa
Aston Villa have recently been linked with a move for Moussa Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen, who could offer an immense threat in the final third for Steven Gerrard's side.
The 22-year old winger has been setting the Bundesliga and Europa League alight this season with 15 goals and ten assists in 29 appearances. Meaning it comes as no shock that clubs across Europe are on red alert after discovering the player would be open to a move to England or Spain, according to Foot Mercato.
If Bayer Leverkusen are to part ways with another young talent, in the same way Leon Bailey and Kai Havertz departed the club for around £100 million, a hefty price tag will once again be demanded. With Newcastle United also being linked to the player it comes as no shock that an inflated figure of around £83 million has been quoted, however it could be money well spent after analysing what he brings to the table in terms of his ability.
Diaby is a natural winger and although he is predominantly left footed, he is capable of playing on either side of the pitch. That is outlined by his recent success on either flank. In January he scored a hat-trick in a 5-1 win against FC Augsburg playing left wing and then just over a month later in February he secured brace against Arminia Bielefeld whilst operating as a right winger.
The player has been capped by France four times and this comes as no real shock given his quality. With 12 goals from an expected goals (xG) value of just 6.5 xG, he has a lethal cutting edge in front of goal to add to both his technical ability in possession and an abundance of pace.
Given the player's profile as a winger, Villa fans may be questioning where he would fit into Gerrard's plans if Villa were to invest in the player,
