The Huddersfield Town youngsters who will be eyeing a breakthrough season in 22/23

All in all, the 2021/22 season has been an excellent one for Huddersfield Town.

Despite many pre-season concerns about the make-up of the squad, following a poor end to the previous campaign, the Terriers have instead mounted a strong push for promotion from the Championship.

Carlos Corberan’s side currently sit fourth in the second-tier standings, meaning they will be eyeing a somewhat remarkable return to the Premier League for next season.

A significant part of that success has been down to the impact of the club’s younger players, such as Lewis O’Brien or Sorba Thomas.

Excitingly for Huddersfield, there a number of other players currently at the early stages of their careers, who may also be looking to make the step into the first-team come the start of next season.

One of those who falls into that category is Kian Harratt. The 19-year-old striker has already made one senior appearance for Huddersfield, coming in the 2019/20 season.

Since then, the striker has been in excellent form for the club’s B-Team this season in particular, and has now scored three goals in 13 league games on loan for Port Vale in League Two during the second half of this season.

If he can help Vale to promotion back to League One this season, then Harratt may hope that he has sent a message to those watching on at the John Smith’s Stadium that he deserves more chances with the Terries moving forward.

Elsewhere, Ben Jackson is another who will surely be desperate to make a breakthrough into the starting lineup for the Terriers, after a frustrating few years since making the step up to the senior ranks in 2019.
