The Greater Manchester postcodes where house prices have gone up by more than £70 a day

The UK property market has been booming over the the last two years with house prices rising at a rapid rate, with one of the main causes being the coronavirus pandemic.

When the UK first went into lockdown in March 2020, the housing market was stagnant as people weren't sure what their financial situation would be. But as soon as restrictions were lifted, buyer activity was higher than ever.

With the pandemic causing people to reconsider their living situations as well the Stamp Duty holiday spurring people on to move, an increased number of homeowners began putting their properties up for sale. House prices were then pushed up higher as demand for new homes far outweighed supply.

Despite a small drop this month, house prices in the UK were recorded at an all-time high of £369,968 in July according to Rightmove. So far this year, there have been six consecutive rises, with buyer demand 26 per cent higher than it was at the same time in 2019.

In Greater Manchester, each of the region's 10 boroughs have seen a significant house price growth in the last two years, but some areas have increased more than others.

One of the region's postcodes has seen the value of homes rise by an eye-watering £102 a day since the start of lockdown.

Here are the nine areas where house prices have risen the most since the pandemic first began in March 2020, according to data from Zoopla.

BL7 which covers the areas of Bromley Cross, Eagley and Turton in the Bolton borough has seen house prices rise by £61,000 since March 2020.
