The freebies GCSE students can get this results day - including pizza, ice cream and Nando's chicken

Students can bag some freebies as they celebrate - or commiserate - their GCSE results on Thursday (August 24).

Following a stressful, exam-filled May and June, thousands of students will soon be finding out whether their hard work has paid off. And no matter the results, they can make the most of some great offers from restaurants across the UK.

To make the day a bit smoother, four top restaurants are giving away free food to students this Thursday. Here's where you need to go and what you need to do to claim them.

Popular chicken restaurant Nando's is back with its special student offerings. A free starter or quarter chicken can be claimed, as long as students show their results slip in restaurants.

The promotion can be claimed in-restaurant, for eat-in and walk-in collect only, on minimum orders of £7. Levelling up its result day offering this year, Nando’s has released a special edition 'Hot Marks' edition of its Peri-Peri sauce in Tesco, Asda, Co-op, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Iceland.

Frankie & Benny's is giving away free pizza and a Coke to students on Thursday - all you need to do is show your exam results to a member of staff. This will get you a free Margarita pizza - although extra toppings can be purchased from the menu.

Vegan and gluten free options are also available. Students also get a regular Coke, with a choice of Coke Zero, Regular Coke or Diet Coke. There are no catches and students don’t have to buy anything else to get the deal.
