The Dundee 'problem' facing Rangers that is NOT the pitch as Neil McCann details shift in dynamic

Rangers are facing a potential problem against Dundee and for once it's NOT the Dens Park pitch.

Philippe Clement's side are due in the City if Discovery on Wednesday to finally play their Premiership clash that's already been rained off twice. The Belgian has taken aim at the Dark Blues fir their failure to get the pitch playable, dismissing claims that global warming is to blame when the surface at Tannadice across the street is perfect.

The SPFL were facing a fixtures headache after last midweek's call off, with the only free midweek left coming after the final round of pre-split games. That led to top six hopefuls Hibs lodging a complaint with the league over 'sporting integrity,' claiming Dundee held an unfair advantage by taking on Gers after the split. But the Hibees blew their shot by conceding a last gasp leveller away to Motherwell.

That meant a goalless draw for the dee at Pittodrie was enough to confirm their tip six status. And Sportscene pundit Neil McCann reckons that presents a different challenge for Rangers to overcome in the title race.

"They've obviously got this elusive game with Rangers to play," he said. "Hopefully it will go ahead.

"But they're going into that game and that might provide a problem to Rangers actually, because they're so relaxed. They're already there in the top six and they can maybe take the shackles off and have a real go at them.

"Hopefully that does come around and gets played."
