The dilemmas Chris Wilder has following Middlesbrough’s 2-2 draw v QPR

The North East outfit twice fell behind to their fellow promotion chasers but did well to battel back for a credible point at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

As a result they stayed level on points with Nottingham Forest, who occupy the final play-off spot at the time of writing.

Now Chris Wilder will be looking to pick the bones from the midweek performance as he looks to improve his side moving forwards as we approach the real business end of the season.

Here we take a look at the TWO dilemmas that the Boro boss faces after drawing away to QPR on Wednesday…

Connolly and Balogun in?

Wilder is currently showing a preference for starting the likes of Duncan Watmore and Andraz Sporar over the likes of Aaron Connolly and Folarin Balogun at present.

The two Premier League loanees have both come in to play regularly but have rarely been used thus far, which begs the question over why the signings were made in the first place.

Both Connolly and Balogun offer pace and skill in the final third and are both out and out strikers as opposed to Watmore who is more of a wide player in truth.

It is difficult to fit so many talented players into the starting line up but surely the Boro boss will be aiming to get them more involved moving forwards.

Sell or keep Payero?

Martin Payero is another player that has found himself in and out of the team under Wilder and could well consider his long term future at the Riverside Stadium over the summer.

He was seen as a marquee signing when he was brought in by Neil Warnock last summer but has so far failed to consistently kick on in the North East.
