The Charity Spectacular format is back! but in the form of the Carling Black Label Cup

Premier Soccer League chairperson Irvin Khoza announced that the Carling Black Label Cup has now been extended to include four teams, with the Cup set to be contested on 12 November.

The tournament, which Khoza said will be a once-off event for the time being, will take on the form of the old Iwisa Charity and Telkom Charity spectaculars where fans voted in teams to take part in the tournament.

That particular tournament was a pre-season tournament, but this one will take place just after the teams complete their first tranche of league fixtures.

Khoza said fans will vote in the four teams and those who don't make the top four will receive R100 000, with the teams that make the tournament getting R200 000.

The winners of the tournament will get R2 million.

The Telkom Charity Spectacular, a highly popular tournament, ran from 1986 to 2010, from where it made way for the Carling Black Label Cup that was contested by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
