The celebrities and famous faces spotted at the King's coronation ceremony including Ant and Dec, Katy Perry and Dame Joanna Lumley

Celebrities including Ant and Dec, Dame Judi Dench and Lionel Ritchie are amongst those in attendance at the King’s coronation today.

More than 2,000 people were invited to attend the historic occasion at Westminster Abbey, which included royal members from around the world, world leaders and government officials.

Actors Dame Joanna Lumley, Rowan Atkinson and Stephen Fry arrived early to the event, which is the first coronation to be held in more than 70 years.

Katy Perry, who will be performing at the Coronation Concert in Windsor Castle on Sunday evening, was also invited. The singer was seen wearing a lilac outfit with a matching hat.

British Vogue’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, BBC director-general Tim Davie, Australian musician Nick Cave, TV presenter Jay Blades, and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber were also in attendance.

Ant and Dec were invited to attend the ceremony as part of their roles as goodwill ambassadors for the Princes Trust. Speaking to Good Morning Britain, the duo said it was an “honour and a privilege” to be invited to the event as part of their roles with the charity.

“He started the Prince’s Trust with his Navy pension back in 1976 and since then, the Prince’s Trust has grown every year and it’s now worldwide,” Ant said.

“We’re just very proud to be part of it and we can see now first-hand how it does help young people in this country and around the world.”

Speaking outside of Westminster Abbey, the TV presenting pair also joked that they initially thought their invite was part of a ‘wind-up’.
