The atmosphere inside Ibrox after Rangers beat Leipzig was unlike anything we’ve ever heard

Rangers booked their place in the UEFA Europa League final on an historic night at the famous Ibrox Stadium.

Coming into the second-leg clash with RB Leipzig behind on aggregate and as the overwhelming underdogs, Rangers only went and flipped the script with an inspiring performance.

The Scottish giants roared into an overall lead thanks to goals from James Tavernier and Glen Kamara, sending an already raucous home crowd into raptures.

However, Leipzig showed why they were granted the ‘favourites’ tag before the clash as they hauled themselves back into the battle following a period of sustained pressure.

It was star striker Christopher Nkunku who would level the tie with a brilliant finish midway through the second half and, from there, it looked like it was all set-up for Leipzig to go and steal the lot.

Rangers, however, had other ideas.

Riding on the back of a riot of noise and colour, the men in blue went again, pushing forward before a melee in the goal-mouth saw the ball drop at the feet of John Lundstram on the edge of the six yard box.

Lundstrum duly smashed home to send the homes fans wild.

What followed were some of the nerviest, and most exciting minutes of football so far this season as, by hook or by crook, Rangers held out and made it to the final whistle.

As the referee called the tie to a close, a thunderous eruption of noise engulfed every corner of the famous Ibrox Stadium as the faithful celebrated one of their most historic nights.

The term ‘party atmosphere’ would do too little to truly sum up the scenes inside the stadium at full time so why not just watch some of the staggering footage in the clips below.
