A Manchester company that has been involved in numerous charitable causes is celebrating its 45th anniversary.

Sheridan Lifts, an Ancoats-based family-run business, builds manufacturers lifts in the healthcare, security, education and hospitality sectors and has been involved in hundreds of social causes.

The Ancoats-based business has worked with some of the biggest brands worldwide including Louis Vuitton, Audi and Hilton Hotels. Sheridan Lifts is also involved with public organisations like the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, One Manchester and The Manchester City Council.

Tony Sheridan, CEO of Sheridan Lifts, said: "With the Sheridan family born-and-bred in Ancoats, our area has always had a close-knit community - everyone rallies around to help others. The ethos runs deep at Sheridan Lifts, and as our business grows, so do our efforts to help good causes.

"In August, our technical director, Paul Knight, saw an appeal in his local sandwich shop The Barmy Cake to help the family of a five-year-old with Cerebral Palsy.

"They needed to purchase and install a stairlift to help little George get up and down the stairs. So we contacted the family and offered to install it free of charge."
