The 15 Royal titles King Charles III is set to inherit

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II means, of course, the UK has a new King — Charles III.

Officially, he will be known as Charles III, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith. However, that is just one of many titles Charles is set to inherit following the sad passing of his mother.

As Her Majesty was head of the Commonwealth, she was also the head of state in 15 nations. King Charles is set to inherit those titles, too.

He has not formally been proclaimed as King as of Friday afternoon, but this ceremony will take place at 10am on Saturday. For the first time in history, it will be televised.

Once he has been formally proclaimed as King, the nation will standstill to witness his mother’s funeral. After the mourning period has finished, he will be able to plan a formal coronation ceremony.
