'That is a really good signing' - Journalist claims 'special' star 'highly likely' to join Leeds

Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Tyler Adams signing for Leeds United is highly likely to happen in this summer transfer window.

There have been reports stating that Leeds United director of football Victor Orta is talking to Adams over a potential move to the Premier League this summer, and with him previously working with Jesse Marsch at New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig, this looks like a deal that would make sense.

Adams has made 103 appearances for RB Leipzig since he signed in 2019, and he has been described in the past by his former manager Ralf Rangnick as similar to Joshua Kimmich.

With Leeds being linked to Adams, Jacobs spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that the move is highly likely to happen before next season starts.

He said: “I think that Tyler Adams is highly likely from what I understand. A player that Jesse Marsch knows really well and a strong addition as well, so that I think will be one of the first that Jesse Marsch tries and wraps up, and let’s not forget that [Brenden] Aaronson has joined as well. That is a really good signing, too.”

TIF Thoughts on Jacobs’ comments…

Leeds have already acquired three new signings this summer, but with the potential departures of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, Marsch will surely be keen to bring in some more talent before the start of the season in preparation for life without two of their star players.

Phillips leaving is going to be a massive loss, and Leeds had their eyes set on Mohamed Camara, but Brighton & Hove Albion have also shown interest in him.

Adams looks like the man who Marsch could turn to, and the deal could run smoothly because Marsch has previously worked with the American at two clubs in the past.
