Tesco shoppers say 'it’s still 17 degrees' as supermarket announces return of popular items

Tesco shoppers are divided after the supermarket released it's latest food range.

It may still be October, but that has not stopped the retail giant from starting to stock Christmas items - including the popular festive sandwiches that form part of their meal deal.

And while some shoppers have complained it's too early to be tucking into turkey and pigs in blankets, others are delighted to se the return of the festive favourites.

Tesco announced the return of the Christmas sarnies on a post on Facebook writing: "The wait is over... the Tesco Christmas Meal Deal range has now jingled all the way onto our shelves! Pick up your festive Meal Deal in stores now".

Replying in the comments one shopper said: "TOO EARLY - why can’t you leave Christmas until December?” Other people agree: “Just checked. Yep. Still October and 17 degrees.” And another said: “It's October! If Xmas extends much further, people will be sick of it before December even arrives and actual Xmas will lose the special feeling.”

On the other hand some shoppers are excited to see the festive sarnies back on their shelves.

One festive sarnie fan said: “Now that's put me in a good mood, can't beat a Christmas sarnie.” And another person agreed: “This is where I eat nothing but turkey sandwiches for the next 2 months.”

Tesco’s festive range includes a tender and peppery Turkey BLT, a festive chicken and bacon wrap, turkey and trimmings sarnie with a gluten-free version, and a plant-based Christmas veg fest.

One widely shared opinion is that Tesco could have gone a little lighter on the cranberry sauce. Someone said: “Can’t you release one with NO cranberry sauce?”
