Tesco, Aldi and Morrisons issue warnings as festive products recalled
Several major supermarkets including Tesco and Aldi have issued product recall warnings ahead of Christmas.
Several festive treats have been recalled over concerns that they could be “unsafe” due to mislabelling or potentially containing foreign bodies. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) mandates recalls for various reasons, such as unlisted allergens or non-food materials found within products, LancsLive reports.
If an item is recalled, the FSA offers guidance on the necessary steps consumers should take and will explain the rationale behind the products withdrawal. Generally, obtaining a refund is straightforward, with the need for a receipt often waived.
Here are items which have been recalled.
Dunnes Stores is recalling several of its cheeses and products containing cheese because of the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes in them. The FSA said the products have been manufactured by or contain ingredients from Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese in the Republic of Ireland and are sold in Northern Ireland by Dunnes Stores.
