Teenager rushed to hospital after stabbing in park

A teenager was seriously hurt in a stabbing at a park in Bury.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident at Nuttall Park in Ramsbottom at around 10.57pm on Saturday, July 8. Police believe a group of young people had gathered in the park at the time of the attack.

The teenage male was taken to hospital from the scene with serious injuries. He has since been discharged, police said.

Officers have now released a description of a male 'who is believed to have information to assist lines of enquiries'. He is described as a white male, who is of slim build and around 5ft 11in tall.

He was wearing a dark North Face jacket. Police also want to speak to any witnesses, or anyone who has any mobile, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage.

In an appeal posted on the GMP Bury Facebook page, police said: "#APPEAL | Police appeal for information after stabbing in Nuttall Park, Ramsbottom. At around 10.57pm on Saturday 8 July, police were called to reports of a stabbing in Nuttall Park, Ramsbottom.

"Emergency services attended and a male in his teens was taken to hospital with serious injuries and subsequently released. Police believe a group of young people were gathering in Nuttall Park on Saturday evening when the teen was assaulted.

"Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have been in the area before, during, or after the incident. If you have any information – or any CCTV, mobile, dashcam or doorbell footage – please report it directly to GMP.
