Teenager accused of murdering Rhamero West denies being responsible and claims to know real killer, jury hears
A teenager accused of stabbing a 16-year-old boy to death told jurors it was a case of mistaken identity and claimed he knows the real killer. Ryan Cashin is on trial charged with the murder of Rhamero West, who was knifed in Old Trafford after being chased through the streets.
He declined to name the man he claimed to be responsible, with Mr Cashin saying he didn't want him or his family to get into 'trouble'. Prosecutors allege that Mr Cashin stabbed Mr West on Norton Street after taking the knife from a 17-year-old boy who is also accused of murder. Both deny the charge.
Mr Cashin, 19, denied he was responsible and said he had ran away after an earlier incident on the Princess Parkway, before the stabbing. He denied having any 'beef' with Mr West, and said he'd never met him before.

Jurors at Manchester Crown Court have heard that Mr West was pursued by two stolen BMWs through rush hour traffic, on September 9 last year.
Mr West, who was also in a stolen BMW, stopped on the Princess Parkway and the 17-year-old defendant and Mr Cashin got out. The 17-year-old defendant, who can't be named for legal reasons, previously told jurors he had followed Mr West after claiming to see him driving 'as if he was going to run over' a drug dealer who the 17-year-old had just bought cannabis from.
The 17-year-old admitted he 'kicked' at the door to 'scare' Mr West and his friends, before being given a knife by another man and then using it to hit the window. Mr Cashin said he had also got out of one of the two BMWs to see what was happening.
After hearing a 'loud bang' he became 'scared' and ran off, Mr Cashin told the jury. He
