Teddy Bridgewater leaves Lions to likely retire again, coach says - ESPN

Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is stepping away from the Detroit Lions and is likely to retire from the NFL, coach Dan Campbell said Sunday.

«He's going to be missed,» Campbell said Sunday.

This wouldn't be the first time that Bridgewater has retired from the NFL. Campbell said he believes this time his retirement is likely to stick.

Campbell said Bridgewater's biggest fear was letting the Lions down. The Lions re-signed Bridgewater in March after he spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Lions are likely to add a veteran backup quarterback after Bridgewater's departure, Campbell said.
