Team Hurricanes, Southern crowns win MSPL Scrabble Premier League

Team Hurricanes and Team Southern Crowns, at the weekend, won divisions one and two, respectively, of the Mind Games Incorporated Scrabble Premier League (MSPL) held at the Heritage Hotel, Benin City, Edo State.

Enoch Nwali of Team Hurricanes and Southern Crowns’ Victor Osawe claimed top points in the championship, which featured over 120 players in both divisions.

According to the convener of the MSPL, Lukman Owolabi, the grand finale of the Mind Games Scrabble League will hold on October 7 and 8 at the Abalti Barracks, Nigeria Army Ordinance, Lagos.

“Congratulations to Team Hurricanes, Team Southern Crowns, led by Enoch Nwali and Victor Osawe, for triumphing at the MSPL Match Day 3 in Benin City. 

“The MSPL train will end in Lagos where champions of the league will emerge. 120 players took part in the two divisions with 24 teams, 12 in each division,” he said.

At the end of proceedings on matchday three in Benin City, Team Hurricanes emerged first, Team Airpop took the second position, while Team Bulldozers came third.

In division two, Southern Crowns earned the first position; Team Anagrammers took the second position, leaving the third position for Team Bayelsa Virtuosos.

Team Airpop Alpha currently tops the league table; Lekki Bombers are second, while Team Bulldozers are in the third position. In division two, Southern Crowns are in top position; Team Aries are second, while Team Anagrammers are currently third.
