Tarren goes low to get right into the mix in Las Vegas
Callum Tarren fired a third round 62 to move within two shots of top spot in a congested leaderboard heading into the final round of the Shriners Children's Open.
South Korea's Tom Kim, the defending champion, matched Tarren's 62 for a three-way tie at the top.
Canada's Adam Hadwin, who shot a 63, joined him on 15 under par alongside Lanto Griffin, who shared the halfway lead but needed a strong finish after waiting until the 13th for his first birdie of the day.
With 14 players within three shots of the lead, they lead a group of three by a shot.
Tarren, who struggled on the greens in the first two rounds in Las Vegas, rectified that as he returned to a claw grip and led the field on the greens in round three.
"Today everything just went in," said the Englishman, who made 203 feet of putts in a round which included nine birdies and an eagle - the only blemish coming with a five on the par three 17th after his tee shot rolled off the green into the water.
