Bobo goes 6-for-6 in the knockout stages – see his pick for the final

Ntsako Mukansi from MBet International and John Maylam, founder of 7qz, sat down with the legendary Gcobani Bobo to get his thoughts on the Boks’ epic win over England and what they need to do to win the final against the All Blacks.

1) Bobo, back-to-back, one-point, come-from-behind wins . . . I'm not sure my nerves can handle another one of those! Saturday is set to be a classic final. It's a match between the top two teams in the world, each have won the RWC three times, and they have an historic rivalry. Whatll be the keys to the Springboks retaining their title?

What a cliffhanger of a semifinal! That was stressful. The reaction of the team and fans just shows you how this has transcended sport and captured the imagination of the South African public. I can’t take another one like that, though!

The Boks will have to raise their intensity significantly if they’re to have any chance in the final. The first 20 minutes will be vital for SA. They’ll need to get under the All Blacks’ skin early and not let them get off to a fast start. The All Blacks are extra dangerous when they start well.

2) What would the All Blacks need to do tactically to win?

The All Blacks will need to win the early collisions and gain-line battles to release their skilful and pacy backs and get some early momentum and rhythm. Without continuity, the All Blacks will be forced to play at SA’s tempo and this will also play into the Boks’ strengths, which is to go from set piece to set piece and then explode when they need to.

3) Let’s just quickly review the semifinal. England got their tactics spot-on and the Boks were just flat from the start – possibly tired after a short 6-day
