Taraba NBA seeks collaboration to promote basketball

The leadership of the Taraba State branch of the Nigeria Basketball Association (NBA) has called for increased collaboration in basketball.

Taraba State NBA chairman, Danjuma Musa Goyo, said this on Monday in the office of the state director of sports council, George Shitta, where he highlighted the need for a unified approach to address the challenges and opportunities in the basketball industry

The call was made during the presentation of basketballs by a Japan-based basketballer, Mbonu Lordprince Chinonso, who harped on the need for business organizations, and government officials to contribute their quotas to the growth of basketball games in the state and the country at large

Goyo called for collaboration that is aimed at developing the game at all levels, especially from grassroots to professional leagues.

By working together, he said they can create a more sustainable and inclusive sports environment, benefiting the people spread across the state.

The Director of Sports Council, George Shitta, said he was optimistic that collaboration will drive a positive change and ensure the long-term success of the game.

Shitta called for support for the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas, who is a supporter of sports development.

Earlier, the Japan-based basketballer, Mbonu Lordprince, who hailed from Anambra state, said he was motivated to donate the materials to the Taraba basketball team following the hands of friendship he received from the team, the sports council and the state Ministry of Sports while going through the early stages of his career.
