Tammy Abraham gives interview in Italian just 12 months after joining Roma

Tammy Abraham has proven to be a very good signing for Roma.

The Italian side snapped up the striker from Chelsea last summer to the tune of £34 million. At the time, it was a lot of money for a player who was considered a bit-part figure at Stamford Bridge.

But Abraham hit the ground running in Rome under Jose Mourinho.

In fact, he finished the 2021/22 campaign with 27 goals in all competitions.

Not only that but he’s become a bit of a cult hero at I Giallorossi.

Last weekend, the 24-year-old scored his first goal of the season during a 1-1 draw with Juventus.

If that wasn’t enough to adhere himself to Roma fans, he then gave an interview in ‘fluent’ Italian after the match.

In March, we explained how former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori had learned Italian since he made the move to AC Milan.

While you can clearly see Abraham wasn’t 100% confident in what he was saying, the fact he could understand the questions and give detailed answers back in Italian is a real credit to himself.

He eventually had to switch back to English but his Italian impressed a lot of people considering he’d only been in Italy for a year.
