Tamberi backs up European gold with Diamond League win

SILESIA, Poland, Aug 22 : Italian Gianmarco Tamberi cleared 2.31 metres to win the Silesia Diamond League high jump in Katowice's market square on Saturday, with the 34-year-old continuing his fine form after clinching a fourth European gold medal.

Alyssa Jones, winner at the U.S. national championships in July, won the women's long jump with her sixth and final leap, equalling Agate de Sousa's 6.98.

The remainder of the meeting will take place at the Silesian Stadium on Sunday, where Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen runs his
