Talks underway: Spurs eyeing £31.5m-rated "monster", he'd be Conte's dream 5th signing - opinion

Tottenham Hotspur are set to meet with the agent of Gleison Bremer ahead of a potential move this summer…

That’s according to 90min, who claim that Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati is set to travel to London for talks with several Premier League clubs over the 25-year-old centre-back.

Spurs are among the teams thought to be holding discussions over a possible transfer this off-season.

The Serie A outfit are holding out for around €50m (£43m) after he won Serie A’s Best Defender award last term.

Arch-rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are also thought to be holding talks with Torino over Bremer.

The Brazilian, who could declare for the Italian national team, has been something of a colossus in Turin in recent seasons, particularly over the last year, where he ranks favourably compared to his positional peers across Europe.

As per FBRef, he sits in the top 1% of his positional peers across Europe’s top five divisions for aerial duels won (4.80 per 90) and blocks (2.68 per 90) and the top 2% for pressures (16.85) and interceptions (3.64 per 90).

These only go to show his physical presence both on the ground and in the air, as well as his ability to read the opposition and their game with relative ease.

It’s no wonder Bremer has been lauded as a “monster” by Breaking The Lines journalist Maxi Angelo. Meanwhile, Daily Express reporter Ryan Taylor believes that the 6 foot 2 titan is “unbelievable” and “faultless.”

Given the need to bolster the backline following the additions of Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma, the Torino centre-back could well be something of a dream fifth summer signing for Spurs boss Antonio Conte.

On the above evidence, the £31.5m-rated colossus has all the attributes to thrive
