"Talks are ongoing right now" - Journalist drops behind-scenes Leeds claim involving Victor Orta

Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke is confident that talks are currently ongoing between Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch and director of football Victor Orta over new signings.

The Yorkshire club did not sign a single player in January, so there should be extra funds available for reinforcements this summer.

It is probably fair to say that Leeds’ squad has not been in the greatest shape this season.

Several members of the first team, including key players like Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips, have picked up injuries. As a result, former Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa had to turn to more than one youngster before his departure.

The likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville have all featured in the current Premier League campaign, while Archie Gray was named on the bench for the 4-1 defeat to Arsenal in December despite being just 15 years of age at the time.

The above shows just how badly Leeds’ squad has been affected by injuries this term and the need for new additions this summer.

O’Rourke reckons talks involving Marsch and Orta over potential new arrivals are taking place at present.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the football journalist said: “Everybody is sort of singing from the same tune right now to try and improve this Leeds United side now they’re looking closer and closer to safety in the Premier League.

“I’m sure talks are ongoing right now to see where they’re going to bolster the squad in the transfer market this summer with Orta and Jesse Marsch both heavily involved.”
