Takefusa Kubo: Japan ace scored one of football's most bizarre goals in 2021

Takefusa Kubo isn’t known for being a prolific goalscorer.

The Japanese star, who is just 21 years old, has turned out for the likes of Mallorca, Villarreal and Getafe in his short professional career.

He has made 173 appearances at club level and scored just 22 goals.

Kubo hasn’t had too much luck in front of goal for Japan, either. he has played 18 times for the national side and scored just once: against Ghana in June earlier this year.

But, despite not known for being a goal scorer, Kubo netted an extremely strange goal while in action for Japan U24s in 2021.

Kubo was in the starting lineup for his side’s match against Jamaica on June 12, 2021.

The youngster played a starring role as Japan won 4-0. He opened the scoring in some style.

Kubo found space on the right-wing and cut inside into the box on his favoured left-foot.

His shot drilled into the bottom corner – going through the legs of FOUR Jamaica players before nestling into the back of the net.

The video has gone viral once again on Twitter and it’s still mind-boggling to view to this day. Watch it below…
