Sweden boss and former Manchester United player 'clear the air' after fiery row live on TV

Sweden head coach Janne Andersson and former Manchester United midfielder Bojan Djordjic have cleared the air after a fiery row live on TV saw the former storm off earlier this week.

Sweden beat Azerbaijan 5-0 in their second Euro 2024 qualifier on Monday, with Reds winger Anthony Elanga on the scoresheet, bouncing back from a 3-0 defeat to Belgium the week before.

After the result, Djordjic queried why goalscorer Jesper Karlsson was used for just eight minutes across both matches - a question Andersson took issue with, berating the former United man and claiming he was talking 'c**p' after such a resounding win before storming off.

The head coach probed Djordjic, asking 'who do you represent?' - despite being born in Belgrade, he represented Sweden at youth level.

The former Red replied: "I represent you as much as anyone else. I will not forget this answer, it's bad. It's pretty low for a national team coach to say what you just said. Who do you represent?"

However in an Instagram recent post published by the Swedish national team, Andersson was quoted saying: "We had a good and warm talk and both feel a contribution in it not getting good on Monday."

Djordjic added: "It was a long, deep and nice conversation where we landed in an agreement with forgiveness on both sides. What happened between us is now outlined.

"It was important to me that Janne was genuinely interested in my life story and wanted to understand my reaction and feeling, even though we come from different generations and from different backgrounds.

"This meeting was more rewarding than I even thought beforehand, where football was actually what we least talked about."
