Sweden beat Georgia 15-0 ahead of Ireland showdown
Sweden can book their ticket to the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand with a point against the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday after they utterly hammered Georgia 15-0 in Tbilisi on Thursday night.
The world-No-2 ranked Swedes have won all six of their games in Group A and got in the groove with an almost painfully one-sided victory.
Ireland hammered Georgia 11-0 in Dublin last October - it took the Swedes just 45 minutes to rack up the same number of goals.
Fridolina Rolfoe broke the deadlock after three minutes, with Filippa Angeldal (3), Stina Blackstenius (2), Linda Sembrandt, Lina Hurtig (2), Amanda Ilestedt and Jonna Andersson making it 11-0 by half-time.
On the turnaround Rebecka Blomqvist, Kosovare Asllani (2) and Sofia Jakobsson completed the scoring.
It means Sweden now only need a point to top Group A. Ireland travel to Georgia in June.
