Swansea City unveil new home kit ahead of 2022/23 season

Swansea City have unveiled their new home kit ahead of the 2022/23 season.

After two years, Swansea Univerisity has been replaced as the main shirt sponsor for the home kit, with the club keen to split sponsorships between its kits in order to showcase two prominent Swansea businesses.

The new home kit features the logo of award-winning residential property developer Westacres, while Swansea University will continue to sponsor the club's away kit, which will be released in due course.

The new shirt, once again supplied by Joma, features an updated version of last season's badge, which was a take on the classic crest used between 1992 and 1997. It comes in at a cost of £48 for adults.

The shirt itself is something of a nod to the fan favourite kit from the 1992/93 campaign, featuring a red and black design on the collar and 'rip' motif woven into the fabric.

Russell Martin's side will wear the shirt with white shorts, and white socks with a black and red trim.

The shirt has already generated a reaction on social media, with a number of fans expressing their approval.

However, some aren't massively keen on the collar as part of the design.

Meanwhile, the goalkeeper shirt is purple with an embossed black motif. It also features purple shorts and socks.

Both kits are made from 100 per cent recycled polyester as part of Joma's initiative to stop ocean pollution and eliminate plastic waste.
