Suspect named after 'cocaine and knuckle duster found in M6 stop-check'

A man has been charged with drug offences after a stop-check on the M6 motorway.

Police pulled over a silver Vauxhall Astra on the motorway near Stafford Services just before 6pm on Tuesday (November 26). Officers searched the car and found what was believed to be a 'large quantity of cocaine'.

Cheshire Police said officers also found a knuckle duster in the vehicle. A man was arrested on the scene.

Peter Wiggins, of Wandsworth Crescent, Blacon, Chester, has since been charged in connection with the incident. The 55-year-old has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine) and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been remanded into custody. He is due to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court later today (November 28), Cheshire Police added.
