Supercomputer predicts where Birmingham City will finish in Championship table this season

Birmingham City will be keen to climb up the Championship table before the season concludes in early May.

Currently in 17th place after eight wins in 29 matches, it remains to be seen whether Lee Bowyer and Co can fight for a better finish than last season's 18th place.

Upcoming fixtures this month against Bournemouth, Luton Town, Stoke City, Reading and Huddersfield will be crucial to determining the season's outcome.

And that starts with a home game to Sheffield United at St Andrew's on Friday night as Blues look to return to winning ways.

We have taken a look at what a "supercomputer" is predicting, using data provided by FiveThirtyEight.

Blues have been predicted to once again finish in 18th place, on 54 points, so 21 more than what they currently have (33 points).

Bowyer's side are given only a two per cent chance of getting relegated.

According to the statistics, current Championship leaders Fulham and Bournemouth will get promoted automatically.

Whereas Blackburn Rovers, Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield United are predicted to join Middlesbrough in the play-offs.

Meanwhile, Barnsley, Derby and Peterborough United are touted to go down.
