Supercomputer predicts Premier League title winners amid Man City and Arsenal battle

A supercomputer has predicted that Manchester City will go on to win the Premier League title after Arsenal dropped points in their last two matches.

Pep Guardiola's side secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over Leicester City in the top-flight on Saturday, with John Stones and Erling Haaland both on target for the home side. The latter has now registered 47 goals and six assists in all competitions this term, including 32 in the Premier League.

While the Blues currently find themselves four points behind Mikel Arteta's side in the table, the reigning champions have a game in hand over the Gunners. Furthermore, the two sides will meet at the Etihad Stadium in what could potentially be a season-defining clash later this month.

According to Opta Analyst, Guardiola's men are now favourites to win the Premier League title this season. Their supercomputer gives City a 65.6% chance of retaining their crown, while Arsenal are now said to have a 34.4% chance of lifting the trophy next month.

Although the supercomputer has had the Blues as favourites for much of the campaign, the Gunners have still been tipped to win the title at stages in the season. Until recent weeks, the London outfit boasted a greater lead of City, with the two sides having played a similar amount of matches.

However, with Arteta's men having drawn with Liverpool and West Ham in their last two matches, the Blues have managed to close the gap on the league leaders. Guardiola's side have won their last six Premier League matches.
